Song : A mother like no other
Early literacy: I love my mom because In this activity the children will fill in the reasons they love their mother.
Maths : Mother’s Day Addition The children will complete their addition equations.
Gross Motor: Guess how much I love you
The children will move to the story I love you this much . When you say I love you this much they will stretch their arms out wide .I love you as far as I can reach: reach high in the air. I love you to your toes: reach down and touch your toes. I love you as high as you can hop: hop up high. As far as the river: point to the river.I love you to the moon : point to the moon. ๐
Tuesday May 5th
Story : My Mum is magical by Sabrina Moyle My mom is magical features a magical unicorn. This is a joyful tribute to just how amazing parents and their kids are.
Song: I love my mummy
Early Literacy:My mom is so.... The children will write positive traits about their mothers in the heart ballons.
Maths: Simple Maze and colour by number The children will complete the maze then colour the flowers according to the corresponding number/ colour ie. 3 is yellow.
Gross Motor: Tape Hop We will put tape on the ground or draw with chalk then the children will attempt to jump over without touching the tape or chalk .
Wednesday May 6 th
Story :Five minutes of peace by Jill Murphy All Mrs. Large wants is five minutes of peace but with three inquisitive and lively children around the house peace proves almost impossible.
Song: a boom chicka boom Mother’s Day
Early literacy: All about my Mom The children will complete questions about their mother’s their favourite colour etc....
Maths: Spotted Butterfly Addition The children will complete their addition equations.
Gross Motor: Bubble Prints The children will use bubble solution with different food colouring. Them then the will dip straws into the solution blowing onto the paper creating prints on the paper.
Thursday May 7
Story : What not to give your mom for Mother’s Day byMartha Simpson A little boy offers advice about what not to get your mother for Mother’s Day unless she is a certain animal. Share such examples like don’t get your mom a rotten log unless she is a salamander.
Song: On Mother’s Day
Early Literacy: Mother’s Day Book In this activity the children will complete a book about their mother with pictures and words.
Maths: Happy Mother’s Day Count The children will count and trace the teen numbers creating a Mother’s Day necklace.
Gross Motor: wheel barrel puzzle walk The children will partner up one child holding onto the other feet while they walk on their hands to complete the puzzle then they will switch.
Friday May 8th
Story : The night before Mother’s Day by Natasha Wing The night before mother’s day dad and the kids are determined to show mom how much they love her!
Song: Happy Mother’s Day
Early Literacy: Galaxy Handprint Mother’s Day Art: The children will trace their hand then cut it out and stick it on black paper (with tape so it can be removed). Then they will take spray bottles with different colour paints and spray over the hand print creating the galaxy then when it dries they will remove the hand and write why the love their mom in white crayon or chalk.
Maths: Bug Subtraction The children will complete their Bug subtraction equations.
Gross Motor: If you love your mom and you know it!
The children will move the actions of the poem if you love your mother and you know it!
