Monday April 27th

Story : In My Heart  by Jo Witek
In my heart lyrically explains what emotions  feel you like from the inside

Song: The feelings song

Early literacy: UM word family  This week we are working on the um word family in this activity you will cut and sort the UM word family picture to the correct word.

Maths: Addition by twos and threes  The children will build on their addition skills by working with addition of two and threes 

Gross Motor: Fun with action words  On nine pieces of paper write action words : turn, jump ,run ,wiggle, stomp, dance ,march, walk and clap tape the pieces  of paper together. Then toss a marker ( a rock or stuff) then the child will preform the task written on the paper.

Tuesday April 28 th 

Story: Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang  A story about unexplained feels and the danger of suppressing them as Jim the monkey is grumpy for no reason on a beautiful day.

Song: Happy or Sad 

Early literacy: Letter X trace   Our letter of the week is the letter X we will trace then write words that end with ax like Fox.

Maths: Spring thing subtraction   The children will build on their subtraction skills with this activity featuring spring items.

Gross motor: Bingo   In this activity the leader will call out the animal and you must move like the animal calling a new one every minute.

Wednesday April 29th 

Story : The way I feel by Janan Cain  A book to explain  various emotions  to children 

Song : The personal space song 

Early literacy Am and An word family sort 

 In this activity the children will cut and paste the appropriate word family in their space .

Maths  Strawberry Addition   In this activity the children will use the strawberries as a addition strategy.

Gross motor : Freeze and Flow  The children will move to the music and the leader will hold up a stick figure and the children must freeze in this position Then repeat as long as their are interested.

Thursday April 30th 

Story : Pig the Pug  by Aaron Biabey    Pig the pug is Shockingly lazy and greedy sorry to say..

Song: inside out guessing feelings 

Early Literacy: Vowel insert  The children will build on their vowel skills with this cut and paste activity.

Maths : Race car addition  with this addition activity the children will will use the race cars as a addition strategy  building on their addition skills.

Gross Motor: Scarf Dancing  With this  activity the children will move to the music 🎶 floating their scarves to the rhythm enjoy the dance party .

Friday May 1st 

Story : I like myself by Karen Beaumont

This  ode to self esteem encourages kids to appreciate everything about themselves inside and out !

Song: feelings song by learning station 

Early Literacy: Froggy comprehensions activity     We will read a story and the children will write their answers to the story testing their comprehension skills 

Maths: Star addition  The children will use the stars as a strategy for this addition activity.

Gross Motor : Mother May I ? 

The leader tells each person in turn to move a certain distance in a specific way ie take five steps , take two giant steps , take ten baby steps the child must remember to ask to say May I the first child to reach mother becomes the mother themselves.
