Kinder Weekly Plan March 16-20th





Monday March 16th 2020



 Story: Our read aloud story for Monday! We will doing St. Patrick’s Day activities this week with songs and stories for you to enjoy with your children!





Songs:  Our song for our Monday morning circle. This song complements are St. Patrick’s Day theme this week I hope you enjoy!


Early Literacy: Discuss with child what means to feel lucky and have them write about what makes them feel lucky Then decorate the banners together maybe you do one for yourself as well.






Maths: With this activity you will work through basic addition problems which I  have introduced in class already some of my friends will need Manipulatives. You can give them popcorn kennels or other small objects to count to use as a strategy for the addition activity.


Gross motor: Create rainbow cups made out of construction paper each colour will earn different points! Toss small objects “ coins” you have around the home. As exciting as find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.




Tuesday March 17th 2020

Story: How to catch a leprechaun? Its tougher than you think they will turn your whole house upside down quick is in a wink.


Song: Counting with a leprechaun can be lots of fun let’s try it together!



Early Literacy: Rainbow words activity . Take letters from the word rainbow and make smaller words with the letters ; two letter words, three letter words, four letter words and words with five or more letters then when we will write our new words onto our worksheet.


Maths: Counting Shamrocks. In this math activity the children will write the numbers that come after the number on the shamrock Ie. if it’s 5 then 6 etc. using the number line as a strategy below to help.

Gross Motor: The Green scavenger hunt. You will go outdoors with your child and find things that are green count how many things you find and make a list to share.



Wednesday March 18th 2020
Story : The Old lady who swallowed a clover - swallowing items to make a perfect rainbow to hide a pot of gold!



Song: celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Jack Hartman



Early Literacy:  Label the leprechaun. In this activity the children will cut words for different parts of the leprechaun and glue them in the appropriate places you can also colour their leprechaun .
Maths: In this activity the children will follow the colour code to colour the different parts of the picture based on a number and corresponding colour Ie. number one is yellow.


Gross Motor: We will play leprechaun Simon Says the child will complete the movement only if the leprechaun says otherwise They freeze, place .



Thursday March 19th 2020

Story : My Daddy is a Giant when I want to cuddle him I have to climb a ladder! He might sneeze  like a hurricane but he’s a gentle giant ❤️





Songs : I love you Daddy by the kiboomers Happy Father’s Day to our days !




Early Literacy: In this morning’s activity there will be letters at the bottom of the page. The children will cut them out and paste them in the proper order to make the words.



Maths: This morning’s activity the children are counting and colouring the shamrocks in the picture and the corresponding number.

Gross Motor: Saint Patrick’s Clover Hop . Clovers are on the floor.  With words written on the clovers have the same amount of clovers as you do kids. Play music when the music stops have the children perform whatever action is on their clover which they are on at that time.


Friday March 20th 2020
Story: Ten lucky leprechauns A Humours rhyming celebration St. Patrick’s Day count from 1 to 10 little leprechauns looking for treasure!



Song: The colour Green Song .... see how many things you and your children can come up with that are Green ! 




Early Literacy: Lucky Patterns : This activity the children will be working on sequencing and cut and paste what comes next in the sequence of the pattern .


Maths: Saint Patrick’s Day Subtraction In this activity the children will continue to build on early and subtraction skills again if you give them a manipulative that will aid them in working out the sums



Gross Motor: The Shamrock Balance You can use the shamrocks he made for yesterday’s activity and have the children practice moving across the Shamrocks balance beam in different ways
